This weekend is all about starting veggies from seed indoors. If you haven’t read my post Lesson #4: Planting the Seed, you’ll want to start there–it’ll give you a shopping list of everything you need to get started.
March 17-18, 2012 ~ Early Indoor Seeds
March 15, 2012 by pivochik
In the northeast the weather has been so mild. It’s time for planting onion sets directly in the ground. Longrange forecast shows no sign of winter (hopefully not, our trees are blooming!) so I am thinking about early lettuce. It’s always a risk but not an expensive one. I want to try some new tomato varieties which I should get ready to start indoors. I am hopeful when I do, none of my cats think they are catnip or grass and nip them off!
Show-off! 😉
March is usually the snowiest month in CO, however, we haven’t seen much yet. That makes me think that April may be brutal! Supposed to be 70 and sunny through the weekend, though, so I will be out there playing in dirt!
We warm up here in the south earlier, so already have some cauliflower planted and a few seedlings coming up. This is the first year I will ever have tried to grow cauliflower, so we’ll see how it goes.
CO has certainly had a milder winter and we have here in New Hampshire as well. I just planted my tomato and pepper seeds today.
